Men of the Choir

The Men of the Choirs sing alto (counter-tenor), tenor and bass in the Choir of Men and Boys and Choir of Men and Girls. All of the Men of the Choirs are professional singers with extensive experience in sacred choral music. Benefits of Choir positions include:

  • 4 calls per average week
  • $100 per call
  • Average annual income $16,000
  • Full compliment of services for Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter
  • Opportunities for concert work, recording, and tours

Time commitment for the average week:

  • Wednesday: 5:30 pm Choral Evensong (4:45 pm call)
  • Thursday: 5:30 pm Choral Evensong (4:45 pm call)
  • Sunday: 11:15 am Holy Eucharist (10 am call)
  • Sunday: 4 pm Choral Evensong (2:45 pm call)

Preferred Substitute Vacancy: Tenor

Substitutes Vacancies: Countertenor, Tenor, Bass

Auditions: Interested men should contact the Music Program Coordinator to request an audition for open positions. An audition consists of a prepared solo (selected in advance by the Director of Music), vocalizing (to determine tone quality and range) and sight-singing.
