Pilgrimage of Intention
This November weekend marks the second anniversary of the Community of Reconciliation since its inaugural blessing by the Most Rev. Desmond Tutu. The weekend features a constellation of gatherings and events designed to deepen relationships, foster spiritual renewal, honor the intention of friends and colleagues, and celebrate milestones.
Friday evening: Experience Choral Evensong in the Cathedral’s great choir followed by a welcome and orientation session for the weekend.
Saturday morning: Embark upon a Pilgrimage of Intention surrounded by the natural beauty of the Cathedral and its grounds as you reflect upon the year past and set your intentions for the year ahead. Participants will gather around a brown bag lunch meal (bring your own or purchase one at the Cathedral Museum Store) filled with stories and laughter. Receive support and encouragment at one of the Saturday afternoon gatherings designed for Companions, the new Cohort of Companion Candidates, affinity groups in formation, and distance participants.
Saturday evening: Renew your spirit at this special Service of Blessing and Investiture designed to honor the intention of all associated with the Community of Reconciliation, and in particular, the inaugural Companion cohort. The evening concludes with a sparkling celebration overlooking the city for family, friends, and colleagues honoring the intention of all who set their intention to live lives of radical balance that bring reconciliation to the world.
Sunday morning: Worship together at the Sunday Forum and the Sunday Worship service at Washington National Cathedral with a special recognition and blessing.
