Experience a Lenten Journey with others from around the country, as we set our intention to create and deepen our rule of life. Whether new to the way of Benedict or a long time companion, all are welcome. Jane Tomaine will guide participants in this powerful practice, all from the comfort and convenience of their own homes.
What to expect
Piloted in Lent, 2011, the Journey of Lent Virtual Constellation offers community, wisdom, and transformation, without ever leaving home. 2011 participants called their experience "insightful and inspiring," “powerful,” and "a wonderful experience."
For six weeks, 15 participants from around the country gather by phone to learn together as they might face-to-face in a retreat setting. With time for silence, introductions, and teaching guided by Jane, the call allows participants to center and share wisdom in “virtual small groups,” one of the favorites from last year. Each session Jane guides a step-by-step process to begin or continue to form a meaningful and doable Rule of Life with topics including personal, relational, and spiritual aspects of life, followed by small group discussion. The sessions are recorded for those who wish to listen again for insights or who may have missed a week due to unforeseen circumstances.
We encourage you to commit to all of the sessions (as able) to build upon your wisdom and the small group process. If you discover you will not be able to participate fully, please release your space for someone on the wait list.
If you are looking for a Lenten practice and seek a community to journey with, but have limited time or do not live close to a church to participate, please join this community!
This program is being designed as a pilot for future phone and video-based programs to serve those in locations without a current Benedictine presence or constellation community.
