About the Conference

The Washington National Cathedral is honored to host the 2010 North American Cathedral Deans’ Conference. This annual gathering of Episcopal cathedral deans from the U.S. and Canada was founded in 1954 here at the National Cathedral by past Cathedral dean Francis Sayre. It is now held every ten years here in Washington.

The 2010 conference begins on Thursday afternoon, April 15, and concludes on Sunday, April 18, with 11:15 Holy Eucharist. The program focus for the conference will be faith and the public square, including discussions of the relationship between faith and politics as seen from a variety of perspectives. Speakers will be drawn from the worlds of politics and public policy, journalism and media, and theology and faith. And as always, the weekend will include plenty of time for catching up with friends, old and new. All of us involved with the conference look forward to extending the hospitality of the Cathedral Close.

The conference hotel is the Marriott Key Bridge, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA 22209. Special rates are available for participants and reservations can be made by calling 1 (800) 228-9290.
