Reading the Bible as an Ecological Act

Event image

Is the Bible anti-environmental? Does it mandate ruthless exploitation of the natural world? From the way some Christians talk and behave, you might think so. From the way some environmentalists criticize the Bible and Christianity, you might think so. In this lecture, Professor Richard Bauckham argues the opposite: that the Bible envisions the world as an interdependent community of God's creatures and puts us in our place within that community. It values the integrity and biodiversity of creation and puts them in our care.
