King in Our Midst

Event image

Reserve this day for our tribute honoring the life of Dr. King. Our annual event celebrates his legacy through service projects, interfaith dialogue, and performances of our city's rich music and dance heritage. Featured groups such as Malcolm X Dancers & Drummers, St. Augustine Gospel Choir, poet Tony Keith, Urban Nation H.I.P.–H.O.P. Choir, Washington Performing Arts Society’s Children of the Gospel Choir, and CityDance with singers from School Without Walls will “rock the nave” from 2 to 4 pm.

Admission is a donation of either a non-perishable canned food item or a new children's book. Volunteers are needed to help with preparations and to receive and deliver the donations. A coat and winter clothing drive is also planned.

To volunteer, contact Missioner Patty Johnson.

Parking at the Cathedral

Parking in the Cathedral’s underground garage is free on Sundays for services and organ recitals; parking for concerts and programs is available for an event-parking fee. Learn more about parking options for individuals and groups.
