Join us for a look into the life of twentieth-century Catholic priest and monk Thomas Merton. Actor and playwright James Nagle performs a one-man, one-act presentation of the spiritual journey of this monk. Born in France, Merton lived at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. A noted author on topics of spirituality, he penned more than 70 books and was known as a poet, social activist, and student of comparative religion. This presentation marks Mertons 95th birthday.
Nagle, who lives in Cleveland, is a writer and poet, as well as actor and playwright; this play comes out of his longstanding interest in Merton and his own simple lifestyle.
Reservations are required through the Box Office. A free-will offering will be taken. A reception follows.
