Join the Rev. Canon John L. Peterson as he leads Cathedral pilgrims through the ancient rites, traditions, and biblical explorations as can only be experienced in Jerusalem. Canon Peterson’s expertise, having served as dean of St. George’s College, Jerusalem for twelve years, provides an insider’s view of the traditions and customs that surround the season’s celebrations in the Greek, Armenian, Franciscan, Roman Catholic, Ethiopian, Coptic, Syrian, Anglican, and Lutheran communities.

Walk in the footsteps of Jesus, following his path through Galilee to Jerusalem. Visit the biblical places that inform our faith and experience firsthand the ancient practices that have enriched pilgrims throughout the centuries by worshiping at important Christian sites such as Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Jerusalem. Pilgrams will stay in the Holy Land Hotel in East Jerusalem, a beautiful and safe part of the city, in close walking distance to Herod's Gate, Salah Eldin Street, and the Rockefeller Museum. Travel and Costs
The pilgrimage cost of $3,500 person includes all accommodations and activities on-site, as well as a $500 tax-deductible donation to Washington National Cathedral. Air travel arrangements are not included. A deposit to the Cathedral of $500 per person is due by January 30, 2012, to secure your place.

The Rev. Canon John L. Peterson is the Cathedral’s canon for global justice and reconciliation. Canon Peterson oversees a program of education, alliance building, resource gathering, and communication to address the acute global issues of violence, poverty, and disease.
