Dignitaries, special guests, and the American people gathered at Washington National Cathedral to pay their respects to former South African president and human rights leader Nelson Mandela (1918–2013).

The official national memorial service for Nelson Mandela was offered in partnership with the Embassy of South Africa to the United States.
