Faith and Civic Life in America
Cathedral Dean Sam Lloyd and talk show host and media personality Tavis Smiley conversed on the topic Faith and Civic Life in America for this weeks Forum.
Tavis Smiley is an internationally renowned broadcaster, author, and philanthropist, as well as host of the late-night PBS television show Tavis Smiley and The Tavis Smiley Show distributed by Public Radio International. He is the first American to simultaneously host signature talk shows on both public television and public radio. Smiley also is the author of eleven books, including the New York Times best-selling memoir What I Know for Sure: My Story of Growing Up in America. An advocate for young people and especially people of color, Smileys non-profit Tavis Smiley Foundation has provided training workshops and conference opportunities to more than 5,000 black youth.
