Course: School of Prayer
In challenging times, we often turn to prayer, searching for meaning and a deeper sense of God's presence. We also may seek new ways of praying and the support of a spiritual community. This six-week course meets on Mondays, October 19–November 23, in Perry Auditorium.
Facilitated by Shalem School for Prayer, this program offers an overview of various forms of contemplative prayer and meditation. Among the topics discussed in this course are reflection on the nature of prayer, journaling, and lectio divina (praying with Scripture). Centering prayer, guided imagery with Scripture, and chant are also examined. Leaders are Carole Crumley and Bill Dietrich.
