About the session
St. Benedict writes, All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, who said: I was a stranger and you welcomed me. The Rule of Benedict calls us to welcome all guests as Christ. From our families to our work places, from our communities of faith to our neighborhoods, we are part of a number of diverse communities. We live in relationship with one another.
The Rev. Margaret Guenther will introduce us to one of the most compelling of the Benedictine practices hospitality. Together we will learn of the art and service of welcoming the stranger among us and the spiritual awakening that can come from such an adventure. We will learn to bring the practice of hospitality, to ourselves and others, into the balance of our daily living in a sometimes inhospitable world.
Optional brown bag lunch conversation from 1:15 to 2:30 pm. All are welcome to stay!
