Best known for her riveting novels profuse with vivid characters—proud men and willful, fiery women—Isabel Allende is an accomplished storyteller, ardent feminist and spiritual wisewoman. Writing at the intersections of memory and revelation, myth and historic truth, she takes her readers into emotional depths of love and violence, and cues us to the spiritual realm permeating existence.

In her new work, Inés of My Soul, Allende weaves a tale of conquest and desire in 16th century Chile—and gives voice to a heroine overlooked by history. Brave and passionate Inés defies convention to chart a leadership path alongside her lover, one of the power-hungry warriors who wrested territory from the Incas in the name of the Church and the Spanish Crown.

On this special night, Allende will be joined by her longtime friend the Jungian analyst and author Jean Shinoda Bolen. Together they will explore the ageless archetypes that populate Allende’s work and our lives: intellectual, physical, spiritual and intuitive embodiments of hero, warrior, mother and prophet.

Come drink from the insights of these two women and hear more about how women who answer the inner call to leadership can influence the world with feminine values, and empower others to do the same.
