America & the World: Picking Up the Pieces

Event image

Hundreds gathered at the Cathedral and to watch online for the inaugural Nancy and Paul Ignatius Program, when foreign policy analysts Brent Scowcroft, Zbigniew Brzezinski and David Ignatius offered a lively dialogue on how America can connect with a changing world. Steve Clemons of New America Foundation offered the evening’s introduction. Responses from global voices included Haili Cao, foreign editor of Caijing Magazine, China; Trevor Mwamba, bishop of Botswana; and Karim Sadjadpour, Carnegie Endowment for Peace, with a wrap-up by columnist Thomas Friedman of the New York Times. The insightful discussion focused on the challenges this country faces in the world today.

Thanks to the generosity of the Nancy and Paul Ignatius Program Fund, this program was offered free of charge.
