Continuing the Dream of Dr. King

Event image

Young people gathered from around the metropolitan area for a lively celebration of the life of Dr. King as they considered the future of our country under the leadership of President-elect Barack Obama. Local youth created their own messages to our new president. Letters to the president-elect were a focus of the dynamic, joyful, soulful afternoon, as people as people gathered at the site of Dr. King’ last Sunday sermon on the forty-first anniversary of his untimely death. The event was led by multi-media artist and educator Bomani Armah.

With Performances by Bomani Armah, Urban Nation H.I.P.-H.O.P. Choir, Hueman Prophets, Que-Que Avilez, Chris August, and D. Tokia “2 Deep” Carter.
