One Sky: Solving Climate Change Together
A broad-based climate action movement is rising up across America. People from all walks of life are being called by a shared moral conviction: we have one climate, one future, and one chance to avert dangerous climate change if we act now to meet the scale of the challenge. We do this for our children, grandchildren, and future generationsand the other nations with whom we share this precious planet.
Healthy air, healthy jobs, healthy children, and safe streets are the promise of a green future, says Majora Carter, Sustainable South Bronx founder and MacArthur genius grant recipient. People gathered to hear a powerful vision of green for allone in the evenings trio of visionary voices and pragmatic activists with K.C. Golden, a Seattle-based climate policy expert, and Betsy Taylor, chair of the 1 Sky Campaign, hosted by Cathedral Canon Pastor Eugene Sutton.
The far-reaching conversation offered an up-to-the-minute overview of key scientific findings, real-world ideas for economic policy and legislation grounded in social justice, and community actions that make a big difference.
Audience members learned about how they could participate in this new moral revolution to preserve a livable planet for generations to come.
