Waging Peace (Part 1/2)
This gathering was an opportunity to focus on the impact religion has on peace-work. On the first night, a panel discussed grassroots responses to conflict negotiation and peace-making from various conflict areas around the world (including Sarajevo and Israel) discussing what works. On the second night, a panel of three religious thinkers, one from each of the Abrahamaic traditions, spoke about their religions initial articulation of peace, how that has changed over time, and what changes still need to occur to arrive at a vision that can be shared by the three. These evenings were presented in partnership with the United States Institute of Peace.
The first of two evenings featured Dr. Mohammed Abu-Nimer, Marie Dennis, Yehezkel Landau, William Lowrey, Adam Seligman, and David Smock (moderator)
