A Private History of Awe

Event image

The audience spent an evening with a passionate observer of spirit at work in our natural world. Scott Russell Sanders is a nature writer highly regarded for weaving personal memories and insights into a chronicle of our relationship to nature, social justice, community, and God. Reared in rural Methodist churches, he grew up reading the King James Version. He now revisits the Bible as a skeptical adult without giving in to formulas or defensiveness. His writing struggles with the most fundamental questions of love, loss, death, beauty, and joy.
