Brzezinski, Scowcroft, Ignatius, Friedman, Others discuss “America & the World: Picking Up the Pieces”

Free Public Event at Washington National Cathedral

Foreign policy analysts Brent Scowcroft, Zbigniew Brzezinski and David Ignatius will participate in a panel discussion on how America can connect with a changing world on Tuesday, October 21, at Washington National Cathedral.

The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required, www.nationalcathedral.org or (202) 537-2228. The program will be webcast live at www.nationalcathedral.org.

At 7 pm, Cathedral Dean Sam Lloyd will offer a welcome, followed by an introduction from New American Foundation’s Steve Clemons. Several guests will give global responses to the discussion including Haili Cao, foreign editor of Cajing magazine; the Rt. Rev. Trevor Mwamba, Anglican bishop of Botswana; and Karim Sadjadpour, Carnegie Endowment for Peace.

Concluding remarks will be offered by Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist.

“America & the World: Picking Up the Pieces” is the inaugural event of The Nancy and Paul Ignatius Program, a yearly series exploring the intersection of faith and public life. Thanks to the generosity of The Nancy and Paul Ignatius Fund, the program is offered free of charge.
