Dean Sam Lloyd and Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory author Randall Balmer will discuss how faith may shape the next presidency during a public forum this Sunday, November 2, at Washington National Cathedral.
The Rev. Dr. Randall Balmer is rector of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Washington, Connecticut, professor of American Religious History at Barnard College, Columbia University, and Visiting Professor at Yale Divinity School. He is the author of a dozen books, including Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory: A Journey into the Evangelical Subculture in America, which was made into an award-winning documentary for PBS. His most recent books are Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America and God in the White House: How Faith Shaped the Presidency from John F. Kennedy to George W. Bush.
The Sunday Forum: Critical Issues in the Light of Faith is a weekly program of honest and intellectually probing dialogue about major issues of our time. The 50-minute conversation includes questions from live and online audiences and is held between Sunday morning services, beginning at 10:10 am.
