“Christmas at Washington National Cathedral 2007” receives Emmy Award

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television and Arts and Sciences has awarded an Emmy for the Cathedral’s live nationally televised Christmas service.

Christmas at Washington National Cathedral 2007 was aired as a public service of Allbritton Communications and WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.

The winning program’s producer is WJLA’s Theresa Novick, and Cathedral Canon Precentor Carol Wade is co-producer. The award category is “Special Event Coverage (other than News or Sports)—Live.”

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit, professional organization serving the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. television community. The Academy’s Emmy Award is the industry’s benchmark for the recognition of television excellence.

The 50th Emmy Awards ceremony took place on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C.
