Sacred Circles—a Celebration of Women’s Spirituality—Features Diverse Voices

WASHINGTON, D.C. — More than 40 teachers of transformation, many of them experts in their fields, join a 1,000+ participants in celebrating women’s spirituality February 13–14 at Washington National Cathedral.

Topics including transforming conflict, romantic love as a spiritual path, healing the mother-daughter relationship, empowerment through writing, spiritually grounded activism, and more will be discussed in workshops and by keynote speakers.

Plenary presentations will be given by notables such as religious historian Karen Armstrong, Afghani activist Sakena Yacoobi, Christian interfaith leader the Rev. Joan Campbell Brown, and singer-song writer Beth Nielsen Chapman. A full list of speakers, workshop leaders and workshop titles can be found at www.nationalcathedral.org.

Keynote addresses will be streamed lived from the Cathedral’s homepage, www.nationalcathedral.org from 7:30-9:30 pm on Friday, February 13; 8:30-9:30 am and 3:30-5 pm on Saturday, February 14.

Grace Ogden, convener of the Sacred Circle conference for more than a decade, commented on the power of the weekend, “The force of love will define this extraordinary era of change if we continue putting it into creative action, deepening and widening the spheres in which we commit to this sacred task. This year’s Sacred Circles is designed to help participants do just that.”
