Renowned Swiss Artists Illuminates Washington National Cathedral

For three unforgettable nights in May, Swiss lighting artist Gerry Hofstetter brings his artistry to Washington National Cathedral for a spectacular exterior illumination in celebration of the Cathedrals centennial.
Numerous vivid images will be projected directly on the Cathedral sunset to midnight, illustrating its mission of reconciliation, spotlighting its role as a spiritual beacon for the nation, and proclaiming hope for all mankind.

Cathedral west front (Wisconsin Avenue side)
WHAT:
- Washington National Cathedrals Lighting to Unite
- Free and open to the public
- Illumination of the Cathedrals south side which overlooks the city and illumination of the west side which faces Wisconsin Avenue
WHEN:
- FridaySunday, May 9v11, sunset (around 8:30 pm) to midnight
- *Special evening for the public on Saturday, May 10, with music and food vendors on the Cathedral west front (Wisconsin Avenue side) beginning at 6:30 pm, weather permitting
WHERE:
- West side lawn is open to the public for viewing of west side illumination
- South side illumination is viewable from many locations as the Cathedral sits on some of the highest grounds in the city
