The noon service will be offered in recognition of the eighth anniversary of the attacks of September 11. Prayers will be offered in memory of the lives lost and affected.
At the start of the service, Washington National Cathedral’s Bourdon Bell will toll eight times, marking the eighth anniversary of the attacks. The Bourdon Bell (funeral bell) is one of the 53 bells comprising the Cathedral’s carillon housed in the “Gloria in Excelsis” central tower, which rises 300 feet above the ground.
What: Noon Holy Eucharist service with prayers for the victims, families, and those affected by the tragedy.
