You’ve lost your job. The bills are piling up. Your family, or your neighbors, struggle to make ends meet. Does faith have a role to play in dealing with the economic crisis?
On Sunday morning, September 27, join Cathedral Dean Sam Lloyd and Christian ethicist (and former international banking executive) David Miller as they look at the role faith and ethics play in the global economic crisis and in the workplace. This public Sunday Forum discussion begins at 10:10.
The Sunday Forum is a 50-minute conversation that examines the intersection of faith and public life, and includes questions from live and online audiences. It is held between morning services in the main part of the Cathedral, beginning at 10:10, on most Sundays.
David Miller is director of Princeton University’s Faith & Work Initiative and president of the Avodah Institute, which helps business leaders and institutional executives integrate the claims of faith with the demands of the workplace. Prior to earning his Ph.D. in ethics from Princeton Seminary, Dr. Miller was an international business and banking executive in London, Germany and the U.S. His most recent book is God at Work: The History and Promise of the Faith at Work Movement which challenges leaders to think differently about faith, ethics and the demands of work. A book signing follows the Sunday Forum.
The Sunday Forum is free, open to the public and webcast live at www.nationalcathedral.org. Complimentary parking is offered in the underground parking garage, accessed from Wisconsin Avenue.
