Have religion and science always been at odd with one another? What were the earliest religious practices like? Which came first in most religious cultures: doctrine or practice?
Join Dean Sam Lloyd and renowned religion scholar Karen Armstrong as they explore the evolution of religion and what belief really means in today’s post-modern world on Sunday morning, Oct. 11 at Washington National Cathedral.
The Sunday Forum is a 50-minute conversation that examines the intersection of faith and public life, and includes questions from live and online audiences. It is held between morning services in the main part of the Cathedral, beginning at 10:10, on most Sundays.
Karen Armstrong is a world renowned scholar of comparative religions, a best-selling author and winner of a 2008 TED award for her interfaith “Charter of Compassion,” which encourages religious traditions to apply shared moral values in support of global understanding.
The Sunday Forum is free, open to the public and webcast live at www.nationalcathedral.org. Complimentary parking is offered in the underground parking garage, accessed from Wisconsin Avenue.
