Scientist Esther Sternberg Explores the Relationship between Physical Spaces and Well-being
Back to Press Releases »How does stress influence physical health? Can the places where we live and work affect our well-being? Are some places physically, emotionally, and spiritually better for people than others?
Join Dean Sam Lloyd and scientist Esther Sternberg as they talk about the relationship between physical spaces and spiritual well-being on Sunday morning, November 29, at Washington National Cathedral. A book signing follows the discussion.
The Sunday Forum is a 50-minute conversation that examines the intersection of faith and public life, and includes questions from live and online audiences. It is held between morning services in the main part of the Cathedral, beginning at 10:10, on most Sundays.
Based at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Sternberg is internationally recognized for her work in brain-immune interactions and the effects of the brain’s stress response on health. In addition to scientific publications, she is author of two popular books, the recently published Healing Spaces: The Science of Place and Well-being and The Balance Within: The Science Connecting Health Emotions.
The Sunday Forum is free, open to the public and webcast live at www.nationalcathedral.org. Complimentary parking is offered in the underground parking garage, accessed from Wisconsin Avenue.
