Peacemaking in the Holy City

A Conversation with the Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem

Back to Press Releases »

Join Dean Sam Lloyd and Suheil Salman Dawani as they discuss prospects for peace in the Middle East and life among the Christian minority in the Holy Land on Sunday, February 28, at Washington National Cathedral.

The Sunday Forum is a 50-minute conversation that examines the intersection of faith and public life, and includes questions from live and online audiences. It is held between morning services in the main part of the Cathedral, beginning at 10:10, on most Sundays.

Suheil Salman Dawani is the Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem and former canon pastor to the Arabic congregation at St. George’s Cathedral in Jerusalem. Overseeing a multicultural, multiethnic diocese spread across five countries, the Right Reverend Suheil Dawani is a strong advocate for peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. He works for the Archbishop of Canterbury on interfaith issues, as well as encourages leaders of other church bodies in Israel to ensure Christianity is a moderate and mediating influence in a region torn by unrest.

The Sunday Forum is free, open to the public and webcast live at www.nationalcathedral.org. Complimentary parking is offered in the underground parking garage, accessed from Wisconsin Avenue.
