The Rev. Canon Howard Anderson
The Rev. Canon Howard Anderson, warden of the Cathedral College, came to his post with an extensive background in church, civic and academic affairs, and is well known as an administrator, educator and preacher. He is a graduate of Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota and attended seminary at St. Johns College in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He holds a doctorate in American Studies from the University of Hawaii.
He has often served as a deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church and has served on the Churchs Executive Council, as well as serving on several standing commissions of the National Church, several of which he chaired.
Prior to his ten-year tenure as a parish rector, Canon Anderson held various posts in the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota including service as the officer responsible for Stewardship and Congregational Development and consultant for Lay Ministry. He was the Founding Executive Director of the Native American Theological Association, founder of the Diocese of Minnesota Committee on Indian Ministry, and the Diocese of North Dakota Committee on Indian Ministry. Throughout his career he has also served as a seminary instructor, a university and high school teacher.
