The Rev. Canon Gina Gilland Campbell

The Rev. Canon Gina Gilland Campbell, formerly clergy associate for liturgy, was named director of worship in late April 2012 and canon precentor in September 2013. In this role her responsibilities include providing leadership and direction for a number of worship groups—including communion ministers, nave chaplains, and lectors—and she has also served as the chaplain to the various Cathedral choirs. She works closely with the dean, the vicar, and programs director as a teacher in areas of Christian formation and education. Like the other clergy on the Cathedral staff, she also serves as a pastor and preacher to the broad Cathedral community and the congregation.

Campbell is an ordained United Methodist minister with 35 years of experience serving Methodist congregations. She also has over 30 years of experience as a nationally-recognized consultant in family systems and the impact of systems work in the church. Since 2008 she had served as the music librarian for the Cathedral’s music program under the direction of Canon Michael McCarthy, music director. In that capacity she maintained the music library of the Cathedral as well as having a key implementation role with the Cathedral choirs and with special music events. She is well known to the Cathedral community as a preacher, pastor, and worship leader.

In addition to her responsibilities at the Cathedral and ongoing work as a consultant, Campbell has continued to serve on the adjunct faculty at Wesley Theological Seminary and the Center for Family Process.
