Former Director of Philanthropy
Lynn Rozental served as director of philanthropy from September 2012 through July 2013. In this capacity she worked closely with the dean, executive director, and volunteer leadership to identify and build strong relationships between the Cathedral and the donors who enable its work. In addition to the development department’s annual revenue goal, she supervised and helped to shape strategy for the work of other gift officers in the department, focusing on the most promising opportunities to lift up the Cathedral’s national mission while also providing support for special initiatives.
Rozental came to the Cathedral from the George Washington University, where she had served since 2009 as a director of major gifts for the medical school. There she developed creative new ways to engage medical school alumni in the lives of current students, notably through the “Adopt-a-Doc” program. Previously she had been director of individual and foundation relations at Safe Kids Worldwide; assistant director of development and communications at The Textile Museum; and director of development at Inova Health System Foundation, where she worked in nursing fundraising and with private foundations.
Prior to her work in the fundraising world, Rozental served as executive director of The Lyceum, The Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization, and Historic York, Inc. She holds an A.B. in history from Bryn Mawr College and an M.S. in historic preservation from the University of Vermont.
