Janet (Jan) Curtis, CFRE

Jan Curtis managed the development team at the Washington National Cathedral during the interim time until a Chief Development Officer was hired. She has worked with nonprofit organizations to advance their missions for more than 25 years. As an independent consultant she specializes in helping organizations achieve sustainability, plan effective fundraising efforts, recruit and retain both staff and volunteers, and create materials that motivate and inspire. Prior to launching her consulting business in 2003, Jan served in leadership positions at Island Press, the National Building Museum, and the League of Women Voters of the U.S., among other organizations. An active volunteer, Jan serves on boards of directors and assists her congregation with stewardship and communications. Jan is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential. She holds degrees from Wellesley College and the University of Pennsylvania.
