Volunteering

“As a volunteer I appreciate being even a small part of a visitor’s Cathedral experience. Whether as a gentle presence for those who come to pray, a welcoming presence for those attending a concert or special event, or a witness to the awe of a first visit, it is never the same experience twice. Being a volunteer provides me an opportunity to give, but what I receive in return is deeply moving and immeasurable.” —Deborah, Cathedral volunteer since 2006

“Volunteering at the Cathedral is rewarding on so many levels; I’ve made great friends here, I get to share this amazing place with new people all the time, and I’m constantly motivated to learn more to better support my tours. Spending several hours a month surrounded by beautiful art and architecture isn’t bad, either!” —Chris, Cathedral volunteer since 1995

The Cathedral treasures the multitude of volunteers who help make its services, programs, special events, and day-to-day operations possible. Volunteers serve in a range of positions, requiring different skill sets, that can accommodate a variety of schedules. Please see the information below for a more detailed listing of Cathedral opportunities.

Consider becoming part of our Cathedral family. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and a minimum commitment of one year of service is preferred.
