The Cathedral choirs presented anthems and carols amid Scripture lessons and prayers. The Rev. Canon Stephen Huber offered the homily.
Christmas Lessons and Carols
Wednesday, December 23
This service called “Carols by Candlelight” alternated carols sung by the Cathedral choirs with collects and Scripture readings. The homily was delivered by Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III.

Televised nationally, Bishop of Washington John Bryson Chane preached the Christmas sermon and Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III presided at the Eucharist. The Rev. Canon Carol L. Wade shared the Christmas story with children in a children’s sermon.
