Radical Balance and Reconciliation
If you hunger for a life centered in God, are ready to bring balance into your life, and seek support for being a reconciling presence in the world, join us on the journey with the Community of Reconciliation.
Discover the balance and harmony found in a cloistered community—right in our own environments—family, the workplace, and daily life in a complex world. Engage the ancient yet ever-green Christian wisdom and practices of Benedictine spirituality as an alternative way of life to our often-fragmented existence.
Anchored through gatherings and resources at Washington National Cathedral we pray and listen for the divine in our midst, share and explore spiritual wisdom, rest and renew our bodies and spirit, explore and engage our work in the world, and joyfully welcome and encourage those along our journey. Explore Balance and Reconciliation
The winter and spring just past offered an amazing kaleidoscope of events, memories, delight, and encouragement throughout the constellation that is the Community of Reconciliation. As summer beckons, the community reminds us to embrace a season of reflection, rest, and renewal.
Take time to reflect upon Listening, Hearing, and Living reflections of Esther deWaal, Tim Carrington, Ron Conner, Simon McGurk, and Cynthia Bourgeault, through audio recordings now available online. Experience renewal born of deep listening guided by Margaret Guenther at a Listening, Hearing, and Living session. Enjoy weekly companionship, support, and encouragement at Monday evening Benedictine Life and Prayer and Creating a Rule of Life gatherings throughout the summer.
And with upcoming Benedictine Experiences, new Way of Benedict and Creating a Rule of Life learning retreats, an annual Celebration Pilgrimage for the Feast of Saint Benedict, and an inaugural Constellation Community and Facilitator Training event—the summer promises to generate rich learning, sustaining relationships community, and growing wisdom experiences along the journey.

Saint Benedict encouraged his communities to be self-supporting. In the same spirit, the Community of Reconciliation is supported by generous gifts from its members and friends, along with individual donations, and foundation support. We are particularly grateful for the vision and resources of the F.I.S.H. Foundation. These generous gifts enable us to offer all Community gatherings and many Community and Companion support events and resources without charge. Make a gift »
